Vince sent me the trailer for this movie. When he did he said Joseph Gordon was a Fairy God Mother type character. After that, that's how I viewed the whole movie. There's nothing in the movie that suggests that, but it makes sense. An 11 year old boy is in a bad way with his family. His mother is dead and his Grandma and Dad are not present. He meets Hesher, a hard rocking, no consequences, live life type of guy. Hesher opens TJ up to bigger experiences and bigger risks. We guess that it's a good thing but we don't know for sure. Hesher guides, cultivates, and implies. Were not sure TJ actually understands his companion. But he identifies with him. And when he's gone.He's Gone.
