Unless undertaken
in spiritual obligation
solitude can be acidic
for humans are social creatures
with genetic need for interaction
interpersonal benefaction
not to mention the debt
to society
call it duty or tribal need
we belong in harmony
not protracted conversation
nor the extinction of confrontation
but simple civic connection
loose but never severed
to sustain in times of weather.
