perhaps kids and a spouse
perhaps promotion and prestige
perhaps a house and two cars
but today, glorious today
birds chirp their songs of May
the coffee is rich and hot
and I'm happy with my lot
the delicate warmth compliments my short sleeve T
responsabity and care, for a time, far away
with no pressures but the self inflicted,
it is easy to forget admist the ceasless striving
the pleasure to be had in simply being
while the inertia of the world is always pulling
like the unseen and aggressive under toad
it is still possible to drift, quiet and content.
