Each city over a certain population
has pretension
and that is just
as pride can be a virtue when
plied with reason
but Rome fell
and London burned
and Chicago burned
and Alexandria was sacked
and New York sinks
O' Babylon...
Just something to keep in mind
when greeting tourists.
