'Rock Of Ages' is a total mess. I don't really know what it is or what is suppose to be. I had fun, I was entertained, but I didn't come away with anything. The main characters, a young woman from Oklahoma and a young bartender, are boring and their love story(which is the main thrust of the movie) is ponderous. If anything saves the movie it's Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise, as he has done in recent years with supporting roles, dominates. His angsty, weird, sexually charged Stacee Jaxx steals the movie. The movie should be called 'Stacee Jaxx' and follow him the entire time. It's always amazing to see Tom Cruise as a total nut because it is so honest and powerful. It's Tom Cruise playing Tom Cruise. The only reason to see this movie is to see the 25 minutes where Tom Cruise plays Stacee Jaxx.
