That night,
we shared a pint
of peanut butter pie
We swore off sweets
our final treat
turned into our goodbye
Since then I haven't eaten
that icy cold dessert
it's banished from my pallet
and doesn't prod my hurt
I doubt you gave up ice cream
gelato, sherbet, or sorbet
I hope that it reminds you
of the past now gone away
